Hi, My Name is Pip and I'm a Music Snob

Another sunny day in Syracuse. I could get used to this weather.

I don't really have anything to blog about today. I made a mixtape yesterday so I think I'll just share that. For once this mix isn't made up of folk songs, indie bands, classical piano pieces, or acoustic melodies. This time I went for my favorite hip hip and mashup songs of the season. I've always been a music snob* and I didn't listen to much hip hop because I thought it was all mainstream crap only acceptable for school dances and ragers**. But I have a few good friends at college who have turned me onto good hip hop and rap. I've gotten into house music and dubstep a lot lately but this mix doesn't feature much.

All of this is just to say that here are the songs I've been listening to. They just happen to be rap and hip hop.

*Friend: What are you listening to?
Me (with a smirk): Oh, you've never heard of them.

**Yes, ragers. I've already explained. I'M A TOOL. Also, exception to the ragers rule: I've actually been into house music and classics like Tupac and Biggie for a while, even outside of ragers. This mix is a testament to new hip hop and rap that I have discovered.
