Life in pictures, Amsterdam

I realise that the past month has made my life seem quite jetset. But as soon as Hugh leaves for Harvard I will be going into hibernation until spring, curled up under blankets reading and writing. But before I retire for the cold months, Hugh treated me to a trip to Amsterdam as a belated birthday/Christmas gift. As I tweeted while abroad, I feel as though if I had visited Amsterdam two years ago I would have had a very different experience. But as it was, I wouldn't change a thing. Returning to England was quite difficult due to the snow...but despite the flight and train delays, the snow does look quite pretty.

Our beautiful room with a canal view at Hotel Estherea

Hugh looking dapper as we see the sights. I particularly loved the snowy mane of the lion in Dam Square.

Some canal...

Erm...might be an old palace or government building? Obviously I am a very skilled tourist.

Hugh, a canal, and a lamp post. These captions are very necessary, I know.

Drinking a Heineken at The Bulldog in the Red Light District. Hugh and I ended up in a heated debate about the myth of equal opportunity offered by American public schools compared to the educational systems in various European countries. And no, we were not high. Sometimes we just do stuff like that.

Some swans basking in the pretty reflections of the Red Light District.

We look quite cute, if I do say so myself.

...not so cute here, more like an awkward girl unaware that her companion is actually a murderer

The full view of the canal. A random Dutchman passing by offered to take our picture and was unbelievably friendly. I'm definitely a fan of the Dutch.

A snowy Shamley Green. Much prettier than snowy London.

Life in Pictures, Paris

After a week of frantic essay writing, Hugh and I caught a 6am train across the channel to see my sister who was travelling for work. Here are some lovely pictures.

Acting Parisian and looking dissatisfied by the fountain in the Tuileries Gardens. Even the ducks have the Paris attitude of disinterest.

Thank God for photo editing so that I can turn a cloudy morning into an otherworldly scene.

My favourite stop every time I'm in Paris. Hugh tells me I spent over an hour browsing in here, but I didn't even notice the time passing.

Oh look, it's a picture of NDP (and real life) sisters in front of Notre Dame. We forgot to display our rings, though, so I guess we won't be sending this in to the Alumni magazine.

Never happier than when I'm surrounded by two of my favourite people in the whole world...and also when enjoying an extraordinary gourmet meal at one of the best restaurants in Paris, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon (I love the perks of my sister's foodie job)

Life in pictures, New Years Eve

After a wonderful Christmas in Stone Bridge Farm I jetted off to Shamley Green to celebrate New Years with my boyfriend in the English countryside.

I always love the view from Hugh's bedroom in Shamley Green

The morning light is just so soft and beautiful

This is perhaps the greatest board game in the world.. It is so like Hugh and his family to play a game about an art auction at Christmas.

The best way to start the new year - a walk through the English countryside

The New Years kiss I sent to my best friend in America. We never miss  our midnight kiss.

Hugh and I looking stupid. He is, of course, not amused by my funny faces.

Life in pictures, Christmas

I've been away but my life has been dashing along as quickly as ever. Snow is falling outside ad I am watching The West Wing S3e16 Dead Irish Writers. This is obviously the perfect time to catch up on blogging my life in pictures.

The Pipitone Christmas tree - our colourful tree is always my favourite part of the holiday season

Papa and Pearl snuggling on the couch

My Baby Bird...now the elderly aunt of the Pipitone puppies, but always my favourite dog in the whole world

Mama Pip still sets up my old Cabbage Patch Angels with our nativity scene - pretty sure I got them in a Happy Meal when I was about six years old

Little me looking quite forlorn. Yes, my ennui started at quite a young age.

Stone Bridge Farm - some of the best scenery in the world even in mid-winter

The horses are not particularly happy about the snow on Christmas Eve

Look at these goons...Gosh I miss them so much.

Christmas Activities

One of my best friends visited me in London last week so I took her to Winter Wonderland to get the Christmas season started.

Also last week, my flatmate and I finally went to the American bar down the King's Road. It was really fun to feel like we were back home and even their Christmas decorations were American.

Whirlwind of life

Too much to process at the moment as my life suddenly takes off with gusto (and a bit of a disturbing sense of humour). I do have some final pictures from Munich to share.
We're just a cute couple being casually autumnal in Munich
I move to England, find a British boyfriend, visit British boyfriend while he is living in Germany...and he turns into an American frat boy
My favourite part of Germany is the candy (and chocolate was on sale)
Spencer came to visit and we walked around old buildings
They were probably talking about me
My favourite shopping street in Munich, blue with one of my photo editing app's filters
My photography skills are top-notch, especially when it comes to taking blurry pictures of old buildings and putting filters on them
Look how cool my boyfriend and best friend look with my blurry photograpy
Looking awkward with a lion, very necessary in every European city
Coffee with Spence at a fancy rooftop cafe...guy in the back left over her shoulder kept making awkward eye contact with me
Let's take a cute moment and make it blurry

Looks like they're really excited to read about the statue
Why not take a picture of a weird green lion?
Bottom right to top left, counter-clockwise: Awkward, Almost Cute, Awkward Again, Cute
